Biography:
Lauren earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from UConn, and her desire to expand her knowledge led her to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida. After working clinically as an athletic trainer at a high school in Florida for a few years, she realized her passion for research and education and decided to further her studies by pursuing a PhD at UConn. Following her PhD, she was hired at UConn as a Visiting Assistant Professor. In her current role, she teaches a variety of courses within the Athletic Training program at UConn. She also serves as the Director of Clinical Outreach, Community Engagement, and Injury Prevention at the UConn Institute for Sports Medicine. In addition, she continues to work clinically as an athletic trainer for various organizations in the area.
As a researcher and clinician, her primary focus is on developing and implementing injury prevention programs. She works with the ROTC group at the University of Connecticut, high schools, and AAU organizations, creating strategies that reduce injury risk and improve overall performance. Additionally, she contributes to research projects within the Sport Optimization and Rehabilitation Lab at UConn.
